Last weekend my wife and I attended a wilderness survival class in our area.

We learned a variety of skills such as bow drill fire making, land and star navigation, cordage making, traps and snares, medicinal and edible plants.... It was very interesting and lots of fun!

"What is on the bench" Monday!

Last week was not a very productive one in terms of making knives but I had to work on the Aciera F3 I showed you previously, get it wired up and running. I also installed a DRO (Digital Read Out) on it which was no easy task as it is an older machine with not much room to install the scales. It is a manual mill but I need to have precise location of the end mill and tool to be able to use it. This was several days worth of work!

My second design collaboration with Hogue, the EX-02 is based on my Tank design. They are available in 2 sizes (4" & 3.5"), 2 blade shapes (tanto & drop point) and a variety of handle materials.

This past week I took some time to recover from the show, took care of some loose ends and worked on my Aciera F3 to get it running. I needed to get new V-belts, a VFD (variable frequency drive) and DRO.... Once everything gets here I'll be in business!
