Project 365 - Day 124

CK&G Knifemaker Build-Off (Day 1)

Here is what I made yesterday:

After making my templates from the drawings. I traced on titanium and cut the liners.

I traced and cut the bolsters on Mokume

Same thing for the wood scales

I put the liners in my lapping machine so they are perfectly flat

I drilled, reamed and tapped all the holes in my liners

Then I attached the handle materials to them.

Project 365 - Day 123

2013 Knifemaker Build-Off

The Knifemaker Build-Off has been hosted by the Custom Knives and Guns Forum since 2007. This year all the competitors are building the same models, which were designed by Tashi Bharucha especially for the competition. Each maker has 7 days to build his knife and must document the making of it with photos posted every day on the forum.

I am starting my project today and will post some photos here each day. To see all the pics go to the forum (if you are not a member, you will need to sign up but it is free and a great place to hang out).

Here is the design:

I'll post photos of the progress I have made in tomorrow's post.
